Star soprano Renee Fleming and countertenor Andreas Schotl star in Stephen Wadsworth's production of this classical tale of a queen (Rodelinda) separated from, then finally reunited with, her adored husband (Bertarido). This acclaimed Metropolitan Opera production - updated to Handel's eighteenth-century Milan - has been brought back by popular demand once again for Ms. Fleming, who appears in the virtuoso title role - a part that features no fewer than eight solo arias.
"Ms. Fleming draws on every resource of her artistry in this portrayal: luminous sound, exquisite ornamentation, floating high notes, emotional volatility."
New York Times
